With many of us choosing to vacation close to home these days, due to the economic crisis, it is no wonder than Ireland is becoming a very popular destination. But how do you choose between hiring a cottage in Ireland for a week or plumbing for French or Italy Vacation Rentals and what are the pros and cons of each?

They are all eurozone, so your money will stretch the same amount in each country. However, it is cheaper and easier to get to Ireland as it is just a short plane or ferry ride across the Irish Sea. The added advantage is that you can make yourself understood in English, which is often not the case in France or Italy!

Ireland has the comforts of home, yet feels different enough to be a real holiday destination. Many people feel more comfortable there as it feels less foreign and they know that, while they can taste and experience Irish delicacies, the food on most menus will be something they can really identify with.

The disadvantage for holidaying there is that some people feel that it is not foreign enough! Some people prefer to experience completely different cultures on their break away and they prefer to go a little farther afield.
